A member of the Atlantis Expedition, Dr. Simpson worked along side Dr. Kavanagh in trying to free a Puddle Jumper which had become lodged into the Stargate. Dr. Simpson countered Dr. Kavanagh's theory that the Puddle Jumper would act like a bomb once it came through the gate, telling him that the chances of that happening is far too remote.
