The ship belonged to Martin, an Alien from another planet whose race were being attacked by the Goa'uld. The ship was intended to find help, however when the last of the crew realised they had no hope they decided to leave the ship in a orbit around Mars and escape to Earth via a shuttle pod.
Not much is known about the ship, except that it can be controlled by a device which is used by Martin Lloyd. The ship also has a matter transporter allowing the crew to beam up and down without any trouble.
