History
Home to the free Jaffa, the planet was visited by a Prior who offered the inhabitants salvation or destruction. When the Jaffa refused to accept Origin as their religion, the Prior created a force field, which absorbed energy from all forms of attacks, allowing the force field to grow.
Using the Goa'uld Nerus, the Ori managed to lure the Prometheus as well as SG-1 to the planet where they detonated a Mark 9 Naquadah Bomb which unknowingly provided a huge amount of power to the force field. That along with the fire power from Ha'tak's controlled by Gerak, the force field eventually enveloped the entire planet.
With the planets Stargate connected to a Black Hole in the Ori Galaxy, the Ori sent through components to create a Supergate and turned what was the planet into power-source which would last indefinitely.
