In the hopes to ascend with her people, Hedda's people came to the Cloister planet long ago. Born under the cloisters time-dilation field, Hedda was one of the few people on the planet which had the Ancients power to heal.
Using her power she healed Sheppard a number of times as he single handedly fought the Beast and protected the villagers. Eventually Hedda and her people realised that the only way to ascend would be to face the Beast. Destroying the beast, Hedda and the rest of her people managed to finally Ascend.
