The Hankans were a friendly race who were enslaved by the Goa'uld Nirrti. When an SG team set up base on the planet Hanka, Nirrti took the opportunity to try and destroy the SGC, and to do this she killed all the Hankans on the planet, besides a girl whom she used as a bomb, which she left for another SG team to discover.
The only remaining Hankan is Cassandra, currently in the custody of Samantha Carter.
