Hok'ta stands for Advanced Human, which are the people of the planet P3X-367. Nirrti used a device to change their genetic make-up giving them super-human powers. However, the downside was that without further treatment in the machine, their genetic make up would eventually break down completely, killing them. The Hok'ta believed Nirrti to be their god, however when they read her mind, they came to know the truth and realised that she is nothing more than a parasite. They then killed Nirrti and fixed their DNA so that they would no longer require the machine.
