Synopsis
Plot
SG-1 go on what they think is a rescue mission to find SG-9. Problem is SG-9 and its leader Hanson don't want rescuing - they have set themselves up as gods to the primitive people of the planet. When they become aware that the SGC has sent SG1 to stop them, they decide kill them as well. However, the SG1 has other plans. The planet has a very intolerable surface during the daytime and all the people of the planet live in caves and only come out during night when they are safe from the effects of the sun. However, as self-proclaimed gods Hanson decides that they aren't working fast enough and they force them to work in the day time which can be fatal to them. When Sam tries to talk to them she fails and becomes a captive of Captain Hanson. There is however an alien device on the planet which when activated would protect the villages from the harmful effects of the sun. Captain Hanson knows of it and wants to use it to make the beliefs of the people even more profound, however what he does not know is that it takes two devices for it to work, however Jack does and he is in possession of the second device.

- If the UV radiation is as strong as it is supposed to be, the team should wear UV-blocking sunglasses at all times, (maybe remove them to look in the binoculars, but replace them immediately). That strong radiation would leave them snow blind (sunburn of the eye, very painful) in a couple of hours
Quotes
| Teal'c: The peremeter is established Teal'c throws a rock into the woods, suddenly lights turn on and a very loud alarm goes off O'Neill: Perfect. (The alarm turns off.) If any little rocks sneak up on us, we'll have plenty of warning |
| Daniel: (referring to military-issued food) This tastes like chicken. Carter: So what's wrong with it? Daniel: It's macaroni and cheese. |
