Part of the initial Atlantis Expedition, Dumais, a scientist on the expedition, she was infected with a hallucinogenic virus when she ventured into he upper level storage room pier of Atlantis which was previously flooded during the storm. Believing it to be safe, she returned to tell Rodney McKay.

Being infected, and unable to overcome it, she soon died. After examining her, Dr Biro discovered that she was killed by a ruptured secular brain aneurysm above the visual cortex.
