One of the few remaining Athosian Elders, Teyla paid Charin a visit when she was plagued by disturbing nightmares about the Wraith, and was told that she is a descendant of "the taken".
Charin eventually fell ill on the mainland of Atlantis and needed a pace maker to live, however when Beckett offered her the chance to live longer, she refused wanting to die a natural death, wanting Teyla to perform the Ring Ceremony after she dies.
