Over a million years ago, the Ancients left Earth for the Pegasus Galaxy, in their flying city of Atlantis. However, one of those that remained behind was Ayiana. Being alone, she wondered on Earth for time, until eventually she was frozen in Antartica.

After many millennia, she was thawed out by the research team and SG1. She however carried a disease which started to kill the team at the base, but she used her healing powers to save them, but in turn she reduced her resistance to the disease which killed her.
