The Avidans are an activist race, who believe strongly that the Goa'ulds are their one true gods, and that they will return one day and reward them for their beliefs. However, they had no way to make others believe, but when SG1 came through the gate, they got the chance to take over the Caledonian federation. They managed to take it over, along with the Stargate and started a world war between all three races on the planet. However, with the help of SG1 Caledonians overthrew the Avidans ending the war.
