The Ataniks were an advanced race of humans that created special armbands that gave them superhuman strength and abilities. However, eventually they were wiped out by their own inventions. Their bodies created anti-bodies to fight the effects of the armbands, eventually restoring them to their normal strength which meant that they could no longer do the things that they would have done with the armbands, and they were eventually wiped out.
