An US airman that accompanied SG-1 on a mission to Vagonbrei, Ackerman who had been awake for 18 hours prior to the mission, was one of the first to fall prey to a parasite which caused his body to produce melatonin which it fed of. As it grew, it eventually created a fatal aneurysm in his brain killing him.
